We had fun on the adventures over the season of 2009. A trip to the Feather river canyon was exciting. We headed down with 4 tubes and a gear boat aka peanut boat and did 6-7 miles the first day, not as much as we wanted. The next day was slow going with the first part of the day requiring the most portages. That night found us at the PCT where it crosses the river. With a big fire and good food and drink we decided to walk out as we would need two more days to complete the trip as planned. Day 3 found us walking up and out the 20 miles to the road, hitched a ride, then a run, to the start where we left the transport. The Feather canyon awaits for our return to complete the exploration of Devils canyon.

The Sierra trip was superb with the adventurous group. We started with a soak in the hot spring then 6 days of nice walking over granite, through meadows and forests, around lakes, over snow capped passes, swims in ice cold lakes and fireside dinners on happy terraces under the stars.

The Farm adventures were also enjoyable with three folks making the climb up the tall tree and some nice walkabouts learning about natural history, wilderness skills, and farm systems.

We are always open to adventures combined with octagon cabin stay (if not away on trips) and have three trips planned for 2010 summer.

Climbing the tall tree

Explore the lakes and waterfalls along Canyon creek in the Trinity Alps Wilderness along with Tiny, Zeta, And Cloe our pack goats. They will be hauling all our goodies to the happy terraces where we will set up camp for 4 wonderful nights among the snow cap peaks, shimmering lakes and golden granite rocks. The first night is spent at the octagon.

Leave the heavy packs behind and let the goats carry them. This trip we venture into the mountains and lakes of the Trinity Alps Wilderness. Walk in with a light pack about 6 miles to a base camp and from there explore climbing possibilities on the many small cliffs and rocks, peak climb, swim in the lakes, lounge, read, nap, or whatever you feel in a beautiful setting of shimmering lakes and snow capped peaks.

On this exploring adventure we head to the three classic climbing areas in the Sierra Mountains. Starting with Lovers Leap where we will climb some of the classic routes, then to the high meadows and dome of Toulumne, ending with some great cracks climbs in the valley of Yosemite under the brow of El Capitan.

If interested in any of these adventures e-mail for trip details.Trip size limited to five people. Meals provided, all trips are shared cost and donation.
